Buyer’s Checklist
What to know before investing in a Walkwood restoration piece.
Before You Inquire
Every Walkwood acquisition is one of one. Walkwood does not reproduce, manufacture in runs, or reorder these restored works. Once an acquisition is claimed, it is gone. This checklist is designed to help you determine whether a Walkwood piece is right for your space, your standards, and your timeline.
1. Understand What You Are Buying
Each piece in the Walkwood collection is an original antique or vintage furniture item that has been fully restored by hand. This means:
- The piece has a history — it was built decades, and sometimes more than a century, ago.
- It has been structurally assessed, repaired where needed, and refinished to the Walkwood standard.
- Hardware may be original and restored, or replaced where the restoration requires an appropriate upgrade.
- Wood grain, patina character, and appropriate age evidence are part of the piece’s history — not defects to be disguised.
2. Measure Your Space
Every buyer-facing listing includes exact dimensions. Before inquiring, confirm that the piece fits your intended location — including doorways, hallways, staircases, elevators, and the path it must travel during delivery.
3. Review the Restoration Details
Each listing page includes a breakdown of the restoration and the materials or functional work relevant to that piece. Review these details before acquisition so you understand both the craftsmanship and the intended use.
4. Know the Investment
Current buyer-facing listings display their published asking or launch price directly. Walkwood pricing reflects restoration scope, craftsmanship, materials, provenance, rarity, and presentation. Delivery costs are quoted separately where applicable, and payment options may be available for select acquisitions.
5. Understand Delivery
White-glove delivery is available within the Milwaukee Metro area. Regional and national delivery coordination is available upon request for select acquisitions. Delivery terms, timelines, access requirements, and costs are reviewed during the inquiry process.
6. Care for Your Piece
Every Walkwood acquisition includes care guidance appropriate to its finish and materials. Following those recommendations helps protect both the appearance and structural integrity of the work for years to come.
